Not to be dramatic, but showing up for myself consistently has changed my life. One thing I will preach until I am blue in the face is the simple truth that consistency will take you further in life than intensity will, and I believe this to be true in every area of life. In older episodes of Rosé with Rae, I talk a lot about being an all-or-nothing girlie, and over the years, I’ve evolved into more of an all-in girlie. For me, all or nothing means I’m going to go 100mph or I’m not going to go at all. All that means is that I might have an ambitious goal that I’m 100% committed to, but I trust that my daily decisions and habits will get me to the finish line. Some days I might be going 100mph, and other days I might be going 20mph. All that matters is that I keep moving forward.
I’m breaking down all of my favorite quotes about consistency and how I apply them to my life and my pursuit towards being the best version of me.

Slow Motion Is Better Than No Motion
I was catching up with my brother one day and was explaining that I’m making progress towards a couple of goals that I had set, but I wasn’t moving as quickly as I’d like. His response was so simple: “Slow motion is better than no motion.” When I heard him say that, something clicked in my brain because even if something takes me months or even years to achieve, the time is going to pass either way. Baby steps are better than no steps. Slow motion is better than no motion.
Step By Step, Brick By Brick, Day By Day
When you focus on the entire staircase that you need to climb or the entire house that you have to build, you might start to feel overwhelmed or even unqualified. Take things one day at a time. It may not look like much at first, but every action, every choice, every moment of effort adds up. Lay your foundation with intention, and trust that consistency creates momentum to keep going.
Consistency > Intensity
Small daily decisions that you make to bring you closer to your goals will take you further than unrealistic commitments that you can’t keep. If you are struggling to wake up at 7 am every day and you have a goal to become more of a morning person, you have no business jumping straight to the 5 am club. If working out 3x/week has been a challenge for you, why is your goal to work out 6x/week? Because the truth is, waking up at 6 am might be the most sustainable path to your goals right now, and that’s okay. If you increase from 3 to 4 workouts every week, that’s still progress.

There is power in focusing on being 1% better every day. There is beauty in focusing on progress over perfection. There is growth in taking the journey one step at a time. I could go on and on, while it all might sound cliche, quotes become cliches because they are true.
