Colby Vöst: It’s the Healing of Past Trauma + Black Girl Magic for Me

Colby is one of my nearest and dearest friends and I love that I get to share her with you guys on the podcast. As always, we’re covering a lot in this week’s episode. Colby is one of my favorite people on earth because the Lord restored our friendship after over a year of not speaking. We’re talking about our falling out and what brought us back together and doing a deep dive into what we are learning in therapy, how to make space for your past and accepting where you’ve been, being young Black women in male dominated industries (Colby: science/chemistry, Rachel: tech) and what it’s like for Colby being in an interracial marriage in this racial climate.

Grab a glass and let’s get ready for some rosè with Rae.

MORE ABOUT COLBY

Colby is a lifetime learner. She holds a PhD in Chemistry and continues to feed her passion for learning with new languages, books of all kinds, and by being a member of The Knowledge Project’s learning community. (https://fs.blog) Interestingly enough she’s found the greatest learning challenge in the reflection of self which she pursues through therapy.

She lives in West Lafayette with her husband Andre and their sweet pets Tintin and Apollo. When she’s not learning she enjoys working out, watching movies, and binge watching Living Single on Hulu.

    Hi Rachel.
I love this conversation with you and Colby. It sounded like a really comfortable talk in your living room.
Thanks for introducing Colby to the world!
